Meeting: 4th DNA Repair/Replication Structures and Cancer Conference
The remarkable stability of the human genome is lost in cancer cells due to the failure of efficient and accurate DNA repair in the context of oncogene-induced replication stress and elevated transcription. Intertwined roles of repair with replication and transcription are emerging for dynamic complexes acting in genome stability and its loss in cancer. Moreover, the synthetic lethality and essentiality resulting from replication-repair stresses suggest strategies to define and predict pathway selection and damage outcomes as a foundation for advanced…

NVRO/NVRB joint symposium
As mentioned to you a few weeks ago, on the 6th of March, we are organizing a joint symposium with the Dutch Society for Radiation Oncology (NVRO). I’m coming back to you now with more information about the meeting. The theme of this meeting will be metabolism and radiotherapy. We have invited various renowned (pre)clinical speakers to talk about their work and the subjects range from circulating DNA, to immunology and from imaging to autophagy. Keynote speaker is Ester Hammond from…

Course: Interaction between the tumor ecosystem (microenvironment) and radiation
The course is directed at radiobiologists, clinicians, physicists, technicians. Participants will obtain knowledge on cellular and molecular processes in tumor cells and cells of the tumor microenvironment that are jolted by radiation. Also, the consecutive direct or indirect modulation of the tumor microenvironment and systemic responses and the final consequences for anti-tumor immunity and immune modulation as well as tissue side reactions will be reviewed.
